Craig & Rachel Bird

Craig and Rachel moved to Enfield in August 2009 to establish and lead Oasis Church. They live on Enfield Island Village and are committed to seeing community transformation. Their involvement with Oasis began in early 2006 when Craig read a book by Steve Chalke called 'Intelligent Church'. They were deeply impacted and through a series of events that followed, eventually caused them to relocate from Nuneaton to Enfield.

Rachel currently works for Oasis Academy Enfield as their extended services co-ordinator two days a week. Rachel spends the rest of her time supporting families and individuals, writing grants for our work as well as looking after Ruby their daughter, helping to lead Oasis Church and volunteering in various ways across Oasis Enfield. She is a qualified Nursery Nurse.

Craig manages the day to day running of church, leading our Sunday gatherings and forging links and relationships in the community. He has a BA Hons degree, is a professionally qualified Youth Worker and is training to be a Baptist Minister. He combines his church responsibilities alongside being paid by Oasis Trust to deliver Chaplaincy services across Oasis Enfield. He is a Trustee of Enfield Island Youth & Community Trust (EIYCT) and Enfield Island Village Trust.
